The Women’s Cancer Center Foundation For Research is dedicated to advancing the treatment and prevention of cancer.
In the past, funds raised by the foundation have provided:
- grants to researchers of gynecological cancers
- increased availability of printed and e-materials on cancer related information for primary care physicians and patients
- sponsorship of a CME course that brought together clinical gynecological oncologists from around the world
- the opportunity of a lifetime for a teen diagnosed with cancer, who was treated to her dream trip courtesy of the WCC Foundation for Research and a special bequest from Jerry and Jackie Rice
Cash for Chemotherapy
Currently, the Women’s Cancer Center Foundation for Research is sponsoring its Cash For Chemotherapy drive. In January of 2009, UMC was forced to close their outpatient oncology clinics due to funding cuts. As a result, women with gynecological cancers across the valley were left with no treatment options. The WCC Foundation For Research has “picked up the slack” and is providing chemotherapy to our underinsured and uninsured patients who need assistance in their battle with cancer.
Our efforts have been featured in the media, both in Las Vegas, Los Angeles and across the nation (see our news section for more information) but we still need your help!!!
The WCC is seeking donations to help cover the cost of the chemotherapy treatments. Small business owners who are interested in assisting can also host a donation box in their establishment. We ask parties interested in helping to visit our contribution page by clicking here
